Fuel Surcharge

In June 2008, Covey’s found it necessary to make provision for a fuel surcharge on its deliveries. While the majority of transactions are not subject to an actual delivery charge, the fuel surcharge is in place to offset the higher cost of providing delivery service due to the increase in operating costs triggered by the increased price of fuel.

The surcharge is tied to the pump price of regular unleaded gas as reported by the New Brunswick Energy and Utilities Board. The rate will be adjusted at the first of each month based on the previous months average pump price.

The surcharge will not be applied to backorders or transactions that are due to corrections on a previous order. The surcharge will appear as a separate line item on the invoice.
